CHARLIE NORWOOD VA MEDICAL CENTER
The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (CNVAMC) is a level 1b, medical school affiliated, two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in Medicine, Surgery, Specialty Care, Neurology, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Primary Care, Geriatrics, and a dedicated Spinal Cord Institute serving a multi-state catchment area. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University [AU], in Augusta, GA and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical center, integrating clinical care, teaching, and research, making it an attractive academic and research Medical Center.

Preferred Experience:
The candidate needs to meet existing VHA requirements for physicians, including credentialing and privileging requirements. Board certification in SCI Medicine is strongly encouraged.
The candidate must:
- Have either completed SCI fellowship training or have equivalent training and expertise in the care of persons with SCI/D, and demonstrate clinical and administrative knowledge in SCI/D medicine enabling the candidate to successfully direct a SCI/D Center.
- Present evidence of formal training and proven competence in leadership, administration, QI, and risk management (for example, executive/leadership courses for physicians, accrediting organizations) for the position of Chief, SCI/D Center.
- Present evidence of interest and involvement in research and teaching.
