Additional Information About the RoleMissouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital, part of BJC Healthcare, seeks a BE/BC Hospitalist to join their established hospitalist platform in Sullivan, MO, located less than 1 hour from St. Louis, MO.

A 35-bed critical-access Hospital providing quality health care services to residents of Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties. Over the last eight years, the hospital has been completely rebuilt, and there is a 22,500 square-foot medical office building for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a community focused, patient first hospital, which has a strong reputation for providing central Missouri with some of the highest value health care in the region.
Position Highlights:
- High earning potential with RVU bonus potential
- Quality and efficiency bonus
- Established platform with two daytime hospitalists and 2 advanced practice providers who cover nights
- 182 shifts per year
- 7 on/7 off scheduling
- Schedule runs 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, Monday-Monday
- Sub-specialty support via telemedicine
- Allowed to switch coverage, so long as annual shift total is met
- Collaborate directly with 2 psychiatrists for medical problems in the New Hope Unit
- Suboxone waiver to be acquired for medical stabilization program
- Ideal candidate will be able to perform central line/A-Line, thoracentesis, paracentesis, intubations, ventilator management, and bronchoscopy on rare occasions
- Fully Wired with Epic EMR

OverviewMissouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties.
The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multiroom surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square-foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area.
Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities. In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers.
Role Purpose
Provides inpatient care on behalf of ambulatory based practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Provides evidenced based medical care to those patients of participating program physicians.
- Responds to emergencies of all patients and responds as part of the Rapid Response Team.
- Participates in medical staff quality improvement and review activities.
- Complies with all medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
