As of April 2022, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in partnership with Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals – Omaha & Lincoln, is offering a one-year ACGME accredited Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship for two (2) fellowship positions per year for Board Eligible/Board Certified physiatrists, neurologists or psychiatrists committed to subspecialty training in Brain Injury Medicine to begin in July 2023.
Fellows in the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital will train and become proficient in addressing the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of individuals with varying severity levels of brain injury such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, CNS neoplasms, anoxic brain injury and disorders of consciousness. In our CARF-accredited brain injury inpatient and outpatient programs, the fellow will gain substantial clinical experience through a combination of acute inpatient rehabilitation, hospital and LTACH consultation, and outpatient clinic practice, including weekly continuity clinic throughout the fellowship. The fellowship includes dedicated research time and elective opportunities in Neuro-Ophthalmology, Spasticity, Neuroradiology, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Neuropsychology and Veterans Polytrauma Clinic.
