GENERAL PM&R PHYSICIAN
Opportunity in Beautiful Sonoma County, California
Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center has an opening in our vibrant, versatile PM&R department for a Physiatrist who is interested in outpatient general PMR with a heavy emphasis on spine and musculoskeletal care, which can include spinal intervention. We encourage physiatrists with interests including electrodiagnostic medicine, general rehab, and MSK ultrasound to apply. We will consider a candidate interested in interventional spine.
Highlights of this opportunity include:
The position is for a mix of outpatient PM&R clinic with the possibility to do fluoro-guided spinal injections.
There is potential for a flexible mix that can include general and neurorehabilitation care, EMG, botox, and spine/MSK.
Point of care ultrasound is available.
There is minimal hospital coverage that is consultative only. No inpatient admissions or inpatient floor management.
There is a large spine component to our outpatient practice making up about half of the patients seen in our clinic. About another third are MSK including hand and wrist. The other 10-20% of our patients are SCI, TBI, Stroke, Amputees, etc.
Patients with chronic pain are referred to a separate chronic pain department, and ongoing opioid management or weaning for chronic pain patients is not handled by our department.
Research and teaching opportunities are available. Our facility partners with the Kaiser Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency program and residents regularly rotate with providers who wish to be involved in teaching.
Night/weekend call is minimal, with phone coverage shared amongst 10 providers. This averages out to 5-6 weeks per year. It is rare to have to come into the hospital after hours or on the weekend.
