Dignity Health St. Josephs Hospital & Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ is an academic specialty medical center with a growing and expanding comprehensive oncology program.  We are seeking a Malignant Hematology - Section Leader to join our young hematology program.

We desire to employ physicians who are interested in continuing to build the malignant hematology section of our cancer service line.  In our 5-year old, outpatient Cancer Institute building we have comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services including: 6 multidisciplinary disease-site programs - Breast, GYN, GU, GI, Thoracic and Head & Neck, with a Melanoma/Sarcoma service starting this fall.  Additionally we have a Supportive Care & Survivorship Program, a large Infusion Center, a specialty pharmacy, Radiation Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy, a Pleural Effusion Clinic, Genetic counselors, Social Work, Clinical Dieticians and Nurse Navigators.  Our inpatient unit is at SJHMC, approximately 2 miles away.  St. Josephs is aligned with Creighton University and the medical students and medical/surgical residents from the Creighton Alliance rotate through the cancer center and participate on the inpatient oncology and hematology consult services.  Building a robust clinical practice, providing direct patient care, participating on the inpatient hematology consult team, developing a clinical trial program and facilitating a Tumor Board are key components of these roles. 

The Section Leader will work with Cancer Program and Hospital leadership to ensure an exceptional patient experience, good outcomes for patients, high quality service delivery, safety and state-of-the art care are key responsibilities.
