Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers’ is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to replace our physician who’s retiring summer of 2021 from our free-standing Radiation Therapy Center. This solo-practice is looking for a highly engaging physician who’s passionate about their field, committed, motivated with strong work ethics and desires to collaborate with multiple specialties on staff while providing quality care to patients. Requirements include, having completed an ACGME/AOA accredited residency and BE/BC by ABR or AOBR. - Current Practice - Onsite Treatment techniques include IMRT (Conventional), IGRT, VMAT, CBCT, 3DCRT and CT GE simulator. Truebeam Linear Accelerator from Varian Medical Systems (purchased March 2017), Eclipse Treatment Software & Meditech/ARIA (EMR). We treat all body sections. New gating system on track to for 2021.
- Great referral connections with Medical Oncology (next door, in same building), several surgeons on staff, GI, Urology, Ob/Gyne, 24PCPs and more!
- Long-standing, phenomenal staff support who’ve been with the department since the center opened in 08/2004. Staff includes, 4 radiation therapists, RN, PSR, Cancer Registrars, and physicist support that’s contracted through CPS who’s been with us since day one.
- We are also a clinic site for radiation therapy students from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL. Chart rounds for quality assurance with other Radiation Oncologist.
- Currently have 17pts on treatment with 4-7 outpt consults weekly (with room to grow!!) and office hours are 7:30am-4:00pm. On-staff physician back-up support for PTO/vacation.
- We currently don’t offer SBRT, SRS or brachytherapy, but looking to add those features in the future as our machine has the capability with add-on(s). Help lead and be an integral part of growing our Radiation Oncology program! You have a true voice in decision-making here! Be part of our active medical staff committees, physician advisory councils and engaging healthcare center meetings, including Tumor/Cancer Board and Wellness.

- We are an integrated health system with a strong financial bottom-line! Since 03/18, the hospital began a $60 million master facility plan that included expanding our ED which opened early March 2020 (17 private rooms with state-of-the-art features). We are currently finishing Phase 2 of 4, as a bigger pre/post-CATH lab area for Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Services will be opening early 2021, and we’ve moved outpatient cardiac diagnostics closer to the CATH Lab. We also renovated our infusion therapy and imaging departments (new women’s center!) and outpatient lab services. We will be modernizing our surgical waiting room and ORs and updating our patient registration process. All Master Facility Plan updates are estimated to be completed late 2022.
