We need your expertise to further advance our mission. Take this opportunity to join our highly respected division of musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Clinical responsibilities encompass ambulatory management of musculoskeletal conditions, including spine, and sports injuries. Ultrasound guided procedures and electrodiagnostic medicine are optional based on interest. Academic duties include training medical students and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residents and fellows. Requirements include board certification/eligibility (BC/E) in PM&R. BC/E in Sports Medicine is highly desirable. Protected research time and leadership training or opportunities are available for qualified candidates. Academic appointment in PM&R will be commensurate to experience and qualifications.
The academic department of PM&R at the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine is housed at the MHS. The MHS includes a 450-bed academic medical center and is a federally designated Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System, a Level I Trauma and Burn Center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Magnetâ® certified. The Department has over $50 million in extramural research funding and ranks #4 in NIH funding (Blue Ridge). ACGME training programs include residency training in PM&R and fellowships in Spinal Cord, Brain Injury and Pain Medicine. A Sports Medicine Fellowship will be launched within the next 2 to 3 years. The Department is the center-piece of the Cleveland PM&R Academic Collaborative and provides all didactic training for PM&R residents in Cleveland, including the Cleveland Clinic and the University Hospitals of Cleveland.
