ACGME-accredited Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship

As of January 2020, the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is offering a one-year ACGME accredited Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship for two (2) Board Eligible/Board Certified physiatrists and/or neurologists committed to subspecialty training in Brain Injury Medicine. Currently, our fellowship program is accepting applications from candidates who are interested in starting July 2020. The goal of the program is to provide exceptional comprehensive training and education along the spectrum of care in brain injury medicine rehabilitation. Fellows will rotate at Burke’s main campus and other institutions affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine, allowing a broad exposure to the spectrum of care for patients with a wide range of severity in brain injury.
Fellows will participate in performance improvement projects and research, with multiple opportunities available within the Burke/Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Health System. Fellows will have ample opportunities for teaching residents and medical students, such as leading monthly journal clubs and didactic lectures to students. Burke expects and supports fellows to participate in local, national and international brain injury conferences, as well as community outreach programs and volunteer opportunities.
