The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine invites applications for a full or part-time 12-month faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor (without tenure due to funding) in the Clinician Educator track (commensurate with experience) at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System on or around July 1, 2020. ?
?This physiatrist will lead the multidisciplinary ALS rehabilitation program and the spasticity management program, as well as provide electrodiagnostic studies for the Rehabilitation Care Service at VA Puget Sound Health Care System.

The successful applicant will be a physiatrist with expertise in ALS and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, demonstrated excellence in clinical education, a record of administrative and leadership skills, mentoring experience, and scholarship. In addition, to these qualifications, expertise in the evaluation and management of spasticity, including chemodenervation is required.
This position requires an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent degree), completion of an accredited residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, board-certification by both the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and at least 10 years of clinical experience in physical medicine & rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will have expertise in rehabilitation medicine with a strong record of evaluation and management of ALS and spasticity, established clinical administration and leadership skills, a track record of mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, a record of procuring program grant funding, as well as peer-reviewed publications. License to practice medicine in any state of the United States is required. The Veterans Health Administration will require US citizenship, a suitable background check, and drug testing. All board-certified PM&R physician applicants with demonstrated clinical abilities in neurorehabilitation, clinical administration, teaching, and educational scholarship at a national level are encouraged to apply.
