PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGY FACULTY/CHIEF OF PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGY DIVISION – CARILION CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL & VIRGINIA TECH CARILION SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, ROANOKE, VA Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic and the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology of Carilion Children’s Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia are seeking a fourth pediatric GI physician to replace the current chief who is retiring after 21 years of service. The new physician, if qualified, could lead as the Chief of the Division a team of three remaining experienced Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologists in a clinic-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical pediatric gastroenterology. If the candidate is seeking a non -leadership position, the same opportunity is available for a staff faculty pediatric gastroenterologist. The position includes a faculty appointment with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine based in Roanoke, Virginia. The Carilion Children’s Hospital is a hospital within a hospital model based in the Level One 763-bed Trauma and Academic Center Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital which serves over one million people in Southwestern Virginia. Our full-service Children's Hospital provides universal care and intensive care to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients. There are 24 Medical/Surgical, 6 PICU and 60 NICU beds in the Children’s hospital. Pediatric subspecialties available include hematology/oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, endocrinology, developmental pediatrics, allergy/immunology, radiology, nephrology, genetics/metabolism, pediatric surgery, pediatric anesthesia, orthopedics, and neurosurgery, craniofacial, otolaryngology, and rehabilitation medicine. We are looking for a dynamic, growth-focused pediatric gastroenterology leader of excellent clinical experience, proven academic interest, and great vision and creativity. There are few positions in the country that can boast such wonderful potential. Our program provides comprehensive pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutritional care coverage to over 300,000 children in a large, rural, multi-state area.
