The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington is offering an outstanding opportunity to establish a career in cancer rehabilitation at the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA). This will be a full-time, 12 month appointment at the Acting Assistant Professor, temporary (non-tenure), or Assistant Professor (without tenure due to funding) in the Clinician-Educator pathway with an anticipated start date of August or September 2019.
We are looking for a physiatrist with a passion for caring for patients with cancer within a multidisciplinary team. This position will support the right candidate in building an academic career that includes clinical care, teaching, research opportunities, and program development. This individual will be primarily caring for patients in an outpatient setting with exposure to a diverse patient population across the spectrum of cancer care. Opportunities to provide inpatient consultative services, practice general outpatient neuro-rehabilitation, and perform procedures (spasticity management, electrodiagnostics, etc) are also available.
The ideal candidate will have completed a cancer rehabilitation fellowship or have demonstrated clinical experience working with the cancer population. Candidates must have a medical degree (MD, DO, or foreign equivalent) and be board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The successful candidate will need to be licensed in the State of Washington.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
