Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country, is expanding to meet the needs of a growing population. As a direct result of this growth, Children’s is seeking a new pediatric physiatrist to join its rehabilitation program. The individual in this role will have broad exposure to pediatric rehabilitation inpatient, outpatient and procedural contacts. In partnership with Children’s Rehabilitation Associates, he or she will also lead a team of multidisciplinary professionals while enjoying full support from some of Children’s 60+ pediatric specialties.
Children’s Rehabilitation Program is home to the largest hospital-integrated pediatric inpatient rehab unit in the country. This provides our physiatrists with the opportunity to work in a collegial environment with other pediatric subspecialists and participate in multidisciplinary clinics such as spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, spasticity, stroke, leukodystrophy and oncology. Further, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as an organization, is ranked among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals with multiple specialties in U.S. News & World Report’s top 20, including Orthopedics (No.6), Hem/Onc (No.8), and Neurology/Neurosurgery (No. 19).
Both Children’s Inpatient Rehab Program and Day Rehab Program have consistently received three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for inpatient rehabilitation and interdisciplinary outpatient medical rehabilitation, a first for a pediatric hospital-based program. Children’s also offers in-house orthotics and prosthetics, as well as a dedicated team specializing in limb deficiency and adapted sports. The Center for Advanced Technology and Robotic Rehabilitation features the Tyromotion Amadeo Robot, RT200 FES elliptical, RT300 FES bike, AlterG treadmill, Vector body weight support system, Bioness L300 systems and the new Ekso Bionics exoskeleton. As the robotics center expands, we continue to look for new and innovative equipment.
As a result of our commitment to our physicians, and employees in general, Children’s has been included in Fortune Magazine’s elite list of “100 Best Companies to Work For in America” for an amazing 14 years in a row, and was also recently named to People Magazine’s list of “Top 50 Organizations That Care”. Our position includes a full range of benefits: health, vision, and dental insurance, long-term and short-term disability, two retirement plans with match, paid time off, malpractice coverage and more.
