This is a one year primary sports medicine fellowship through the University of Michigan Department of Family Medicine with two fellows accepted each year - one with training in Family Medicine and one with training in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, or Emergency Medicine. Fellows are expected to become proficient in all aspects of primary care sports medicine. Coverage responsibilities include University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University athletics, local high school, and other various mass and local events. Fellows will also be expected to a quality improvement and scholarly project and publish during this fellowship.
Procedures Taught: Musculoskeletal diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures and evaluation as it pertains to primary care sports medicine issues. Non-ultrasound guided procedures. EKG stress tests. Casting/splinting.
