This one year multidisciplinary Pain Fellowship with the Departments of Anesthesiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will provide integrative, state-of-the-art approaches to care in pain medicine. Fellows are mentored by experts in these areas and participate in regular teaching sessions and journal club activities. Fellows will also engage in research activities and are expected to present findings at scientific conferences. In addition, fellows will receive significant exposure to spine interventions including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar injections. They will develop expertise in radiology and imaging interpretation. Upon completion of the fellowship, the trainee will have developed comprehensive, well-rounded background suitable for a practice in pain medicine.
Procedures Taught: The following procedures will be taught for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine: Epidural Steroid Injections, facet injections and medical branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, and sympathetic blocks. Fellows will also become proficient in spinal cord stimulators placement and management, sacroiliac joint injections, as well as multiple peripheral joint procedures.
