Fellows learn comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with pain. They gain expertise in interventional pain management procedures including, but not limited to, cervical, lumbar and caudal epidural steroid injections; sacroiliac joint injections; facet blocks; intercostal nerve blocks; peripheral joint injections; and spinal cord stimulator trials.
In addition, Dr. Quidgley works closely with local neurosurgeons for intrathecal pump medication trials and management. During the year, fellows gain experience in pain management from physiatric, anesthesia and neurology perspectives in both adult and pediatric patients, including end of life care.
Procedures Taught: Cervical, thoracic and lumbar epidural steroid injections. Sacroiliac Joint injections. Zygapophyseal joint injections, medial branch blocks, radio frequency ablation. Intercostal nerve blocks. Spinal cord stimulator trials, intrathecal pump trials. Peripheral joint injections. Peripheral nerve blocks. Trigger point injections.
