The training program is 12 months and includes sports medicine, primary care and interventional procedures clinics, rotations in PT and exercise physiology, a weekly didactic curriculum and protected research time. Sports coverage includes Davis/Fed Cup teams, Inter University track and field championships, and events sponsored by federations of the Olympic Committee. The fellow develops team physician experience by covering athletes from the Technical and Sports school located at the Olympic Training Center, affiliated to the UPR Med School. The curriculum is organized so that the fellow develops core knowledge in primary care sports medicine and maintains knowledge in the practice of the specialty in which they trained.
