The successful candidate will exhibit excellent clinical skills, strong organizational and team skills, and a desire to teach. Interest and skills in longitudinal neuromuscular management, brachial plexus injury, spasticity management, and EMG are desirable, but the duties assigned will depend on the skills and interests of the applicant. Recognized as regional leaders in pediatric rehabilitation care, our team consists of six pediatric physiatrists with two physician fellows, four nurse practitioners, two social workers, an additional physician for EMG/NCV, a rehabilitation psychologist, a triage nurse, a dedicated research physician and a research coordinator, along with an amazing team of therapists from all pertinent disciplines. Our practice includes inpatient, outpatient and consultation service, as well as a Day Program. We have an active and expanding research program, an ACGME-approved fellowship training program, and active involvement with physical medicine and rehabilitation residents with clinical and didactic teaching opportunities. We were the first pediatric-only EMG Lab in the country accredited with AANEM. Our practice has expanded to three Kansas City sites, along with telemedicine growth into Kansas and Missouri. Our physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric physical rehabilitation conditions, including inpatient and outpatient management of limb deficiency, neuromuscular disease, surgical neuromonitoring, EMG, brachial plexus injury, torticollis, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, spasticity, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, and wheelchair/seating needs.
