The fellowship is non-ACGME accredited. The successful candidate is required to have a full, unrestricted Florida state medical license, DEA number and will be required to meet staff privilege requirements at participating hospitals. Providing chronic back pain treatment and spinal injection procedures - including therapy, interventional pain management and surgery -Deuk Spine Institute’s multi-specialty practice concentrates on the treatment of neck and back injuries and spine conditions. Deuk Spine Institute employs a comprehensive care approach and a world class team in providing for all our patients' back and neck care needs, without having to go from specialist to specialist.
Goals: The Interventional Pain Management Fellow will be a BC/BE physiatrist, anesthesiologist or neurologist to be educated and trained in advanced interventional techniques in the practice of musculoskeletal disorders pertaining to the spine. The Fellow will work alongside a quintuple board certified interventional pain management specialist, Dr. Bharat Patel, and experience first-hand advanced principles of diagnoses and pain management, including treatments and modalities available in the management of spine-related disorders. The Fellow should anticipate sharing a patient load presently at 60+ procedures per week and more than 600 patient encounters per month. There will also be an opportunity to learn the intricacies of EMGs and nerve conduction studies.

Spine Focused Procedures Taught: Cervical and lumbar discograms, kyphoplasty, spinal cord stimulator trials and permanent placement, regenerative medicine injections (PRP & BMAC therapy), medial branch blocks, RFAs, facet joint injections, epidurals, sacroiliac joint injections, piriformis block, stellate and sympathetic ganglion blocks, peripheral nerve blocks, peripheral joint injections, intercostal nerve blocks, Botox injections, EMG/NCS studies, billing and coding training.
