The 1 year multi-disciplinary fellowship experience involves: 1) Inpatient Rehabilitation Service - Duration – 3-4 months - Typically, patients stay for a fairly short term with very specific goals in mind, i.e. perhaps specific transfers, family training, DME needs. 2) Outpatient Rehabilitation Service - At least twice a week for half days throughout the year except when on specified rotations 3) Inpatient Consult Services - Referral from various services for hospitalized patients - Duration of 3-4 months 4) Rotations - Palliative Care Service - Chronic Pain Service - Psychiatry Service 5) Informal rotations/visits - Electrodiagnostics Clinic - Spasticity Clinic - Head and Neck Clinic - Fatigue Clinic - Integrative Medicine - Lymphedema - Wound care and ostomy - Bowel concerns in cancer patients - Any other sites trainee may express interest in 6) Research - Time of 2 months or more depending on interest 7) Teaching opportunities - Varied and throughout the week
Procedures Taught:We do NOT have our fellows perform any interventional procedures for pain other than occasional joint injections in PM&R clinic.
