Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is growing. With this growth, we are very excited to be adding an additional Physiatrist to join our rehabilitation services department. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the country’s leading children’s health systems with three hospitals and 20 satellite locations serving the community with over 60 pediatric specialties.
The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and Day Rehab Program have consistently received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for Inpatient Rehabilitation and Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation. This is the first time that Children’s has received the accreditation for Spinal Cord Injury—and is a first for a pediatric hospital-based program.
Our rehabilitation associates provide care for children with special health care needs, via over 13,000 patient contacts per year. Providing care for children with acute and chronic disabilities, we offer appropriate medical and therapeutic interventions for improving the child’s quality of life. Additionally, our rehabilitation department is the largest pediatric inpatient unit in the country and offers physiatrists an invaluable opportunity to have continued exposure to unique areas of pediatric medicine and rehabilitation such as cancer rehabilitation and cardiac rehabilitation.
Our “Center for Advanced Technology and Robotic Rehabilitation” has had a phenomenal impact and is also growing. We feature the Tyromotion Amadeo Robot, RT 200 FES elliptical, the RT300 FES bike, the AlterG treadmill, the Vector body weight support system, the Bioness L300 systems and our new Ekso Bionics, exoskeleton bionics suit! As our robotics center expands, we continuously look for new and innovative equipment to provide our rehab patients.
This is an exciting job opportunity that will provide broad exposure to pediatric rehabilitation inpatient, outpatient and procedural contacts. The successful physiatrist will, in partnership with the rehabilitation associates group, lead a team of outstanding multidisciplinary professionals while enjoying full support from pediatric and surgical subspecialties.
Children’s Rehabilitation Associates practice also plays an active role in the education of both physical medicine and rehabilitation residents and pediatric residents and has a fellowship program in conjunction with Emory University.
Our position includes a full range of benefits: health and dental insurance, long and short term disability, two retirement plans with match, paid time off, malpractice coverage and more. Competitive salary offered with bonus potential.
