The orthopedic spinal surgeon is medically conservative with a solid reputation for doing the right thing; he works with PT’s, chiropractors and physiatrists
The physiatrist the orthopod currently refers his patients to is moving out of town and this orthopod is taking over his practice
13-year-old, established, solo orthopedic spinal surgery practice
10-person staff to include 2 PA’s and 2 MA’s
The spinal surgeon starts with conservative care prior to operative intervention
Two locations: Primary location in Wheatfield, NY (Niagara Falls, NY) and satellite office in Buffalo, NY
No Emergency Department on call
Be the first point of entry for the patient
If you're an interventionalist - Perform procedures at the local hospital and/or ASC
Your choice as to the number of procedure days vs. clinic days
There’s no physiatry in Niagara County and there is a large growth potential in this market.
If you're an outpatient generalist – Perform office visits, injections and EMG’s
If an interventionalist, Must perform:Lumbar epidurals, Lumbar transforaminal epidural injections, Sacroiliac joint injections, Trigger point injections. It would be good but not absolutely necessary to perform: Cervical epidural, Spinal stimulator trials, & Dorsal root rhizotomy
Salary plus bonus with high income potential
Ability to own part of the ASC
Reason for opening:
Develop a complete progression of treatment for our patients from conservative care to operative intervention to post-operative care.
Expand practice services to include physiatry, cognitive behavioral therapy, physical therapy and pain management psychology.
NOT looking to have a chronic pain patient population
50% Workers Comp and no fault (much higher payors in New York State for our services), traditional insurers, cash paying patients from Canada and a small amount of Medicare, no Medicaid
Board Certified/Qualified physiatrist with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
A team player who is willing to take the time to educate patients
A strong desire to build a practice and expand services to become a comprehensive spine center
Practice in the second largest city in New York State, where doctors are happier all-around than in major cities; enjoy a level of importance and lifestyle not found in the big cities
