Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our team within our expanding NeuroDevelopmental Science Center (NDSC). This physician, will join a group of three pediatric physiatrists, and will play an integral role in the expansion of an established pediatric rehab program, including outpatient clinics, day rehabilitation, and inpatient practice in our 5-bed inpatient unit. The selected candidate will enjoy call of 1:4 weeks, with advance practice providers covering weekend call. Current clinic offerings include a Myelodysplasia clinic, Neuromuscular clinic, Traumatic Brain Injury clinic, Brachial Plexus clinic, Neuro-oncology clinic and a Spasticity program. In addition to providing electives to our pediatric residents, beginning in March 2017, we have been designated the Pediatric site for the University Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program.
Under the direction of Dr. Bruce Cohen, the NDSC brings together 5 pediatric specialties – Physiatry, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neurobehavioral Health, in one physical and functional unit to deliver the best outcomes and quality of life for patients. This outstanding opportunity is a clinical position with appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University encouraged. We are fully integrated with the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute and have full PhD, Pharm D, statistical and nursing support for clinical research. We also have a PhD within the NDSC who assists all members with protocol inception, design, conduct and publication.
